The NHS holds a special place in people's hearts. It's there for us, whether we're welcoming a new life into the world, tackling illness or saying goodbye to loved ones. But behind the scenes, the NHS is facing growing pressure: an ageing population with increasingly complex healthcare needs, long waiting lists and a workforce that is often overstretched. That's where NHS Charities Together comes in.

The charity works with more than 230 local and specialist NHS charities across the UK, striving to ensure that the NHS can be the best it can be – not only for patients but for the dedicated staff who care for us, and communities that need support to stay healthy and live well at home.

An incredible £1.5 million is invested in the NHS every day by NHS charities. This funds projects that create meaningful change in people's lives. It could be by helping a child feel much more at ease in hospital, supporting a nurse's mental health with a wellbeing programme, or funding community projects that create and improve green spaces across the UK.
