Is it TIME to try a TWEAKMENT?

While a good skincare routine is vital, there's only so much it can do, no matter how much money you spend. If you feel like your trusty beauty products are no longer hitting the spot and you're in the market for something more results-driven than a facial, maybe it's time to consider a tweakment. But with so much choice, it can be confusing to know where to start.

'At my clinic, we don't do cookie-cutter approaches,' says leading aesthetics specialist Dr Tara Francis. 'We assess facial patterns and recommend precise interventions, from biostimulators like Sculptra, to ultrasound skin tightening or carefully placed dermal fillers.'

Take time to investigate who you're going to see. Go to several clinics, have a thorough consultation and if you feel under pressure, walk away. Be wary of offers that prompt impulsive decisions.

Skin boosters

The best-known boosters – Teoxane Redensity 1, Juvéderm Volite and Profhilo – are all different brands formulated with the hydration molecule hyaluronic acid (HA). They each do a similar job of allover skin rejuvenation, where small amounts of hyaluronic acid (HA) are strategically placed at key points, which then disperse evenly across the face to boost moisture as well as stimulate collagen levels in the skin.

‘I've seen a rise in people wanting skin boosters as they become more interested in the health of the skin,’ explains Dr Christine Hall of the Taktouk Clinic. ‘We've seen a move towards minimalist makeup and people wanting to go barefaced, so skin boosters are one of my favorite treatments to help give skin that healthy, hydrated glow.’ Boosters hit the sweet spot of doing the work yet not looking like work.
