Celebrate Valentine's Day with a cosy meal at home

TO START
Pear and walnut salad
Crisp leaves with salty cheese and a sweet, tangy dressing.
Ready in 20 mins
30g walnut pieces
1/2tbsp runny honey
1 pear
75g red chicory leaves Handful mixed leaves
40g blue cheese, we used Bleu d'Auvergne
For the dressing:
1tbsp white wine vinegar
1/2tbsp honey
2tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1tsp Dijon mustard
1/4tsp fine sea salt
1 In a small pan over medium heat, toast the nuts, mixing occasionally for 5-10 mins. Stir in the honey and bubble for 30 seconds, then tip on to a sheet of baking paper to cool.
2 Grate half of the pear into a mixing bowl. Add the dressing ingredients and mix well. Toss with the leaves and cheese then tip on to a platter. Thinly slice the other half of the pear and arrange on top with the nuts. Per serving: 361 cals, 29g fat, 7g sat fat, 17g carbs

Share the love with a sumptuous platter of steak, chips and creamy mushroom sauce.
Prep 20 mins
• Cook 35 mins, plus 30 mins soaking
400g Maris Piper potatoes, peeled and cut into 1cm chips
400g thick-cut rump steak, at room temperature
1tbsp cooking oil, plus extra for the steak and sauce
