Geri Halliwell-Horner on girl power, getting over ‘wobbles’ and life as an author

- JULIE ANN TRAINOR

‘Why do we want to AIRBRUSH EVERYTHING?’

Having found fame with the Spice Girls three decades ago, Geri Halliwell-Horner sure knows a thing or two when it comes to the pop world. Her extraordinary life has seen her dominate the charts with hits such as Wannabe, carve out a solo singing career and count the late, great, musician George Michael as a dear friend. But the It’s Raining Men singer adopted a new image away from the world of pop 10 years ago, when she tied the knot with Formula 1 bigwig and Red Bull Racing Principal, Christian Horner, 51. Sadly, their marriage faced a rocky patch last year when the motor sport star was caught up in a ‘sexting scandal’ - of which he has since been cleared. But the couple - who share an eight-year-old son, Monty, together - have always put on a united front and squashed any rumours of a split. Here Geri, 52, who is also mum to Bluebell, 19, from a previous relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, tells Woman all about the second instalment of her Rosie Frost book series, how being ginger means ‘she’s in her own lane’ and why she no longer strives for perfection.

Hi Geri! You have a new book out - how has Rosie changed since the first instalment?

I just think wow; I'm on book two. She’s 14, and for me age 14 is the age of power. I think we all grow at different chapters in our lives, where we process something and we change. So, whether it’s 14, 28, 35 - we keep on evolving... and we find a new identity.
