There’s plenty going on in the world right now that may leave a bad taste in your mouth, but - for some - it’s not just an expression of disdain, it’s an actual physical problem. Often, patients will describe an unwanted taste as metallic, and I've heard many liken it to prolonged sucking on the back of a spoon or a rusty nail. Of course, I wouldn’t recommend either!

On the hunt for a cause? Firstly, get your oral hygiene in check. Regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups are necessary to keep gum disease, bad smells and tastes away. Subtle signs that something may be a miss dentally include bad breath, bleeding gums and sensitive or loose teeth.
