Meghan accused of 'FAKING IT'

Footage of the duchess dancing while heavily pregnant with Princess Lilibet has fuelled unfounded conspiracy theories that she 'faked' her pregnancies. Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe investigates

The video she released to mark daughter Lilibet's fourth birthday sparked a wave of outrageous rumours on social media, even though friends of the duchess have said they are false, and branded them 'sickening and cruel'.

Meghan can be seen showing off her moves while dancing to Starrkeisha's The Baby Momma Dance! - a song that became viral on Tik Tok at the time of Princess Lilibet's birth in 2021. The duchess was in a black dress and barefoot, while foetal monitors could be seen under her outfit.

But what should have been a bit of fun resulted in a huge backlash - with some viewers even ridiculously claiming Meghan's bump wasn't real. Online chatrooms went into overdrive as people discussed the extreme theory that Meghan was, in fact, not pregnant, but wearing a strap-on rubber belly and was 'faking' it.
