Beat the bloat, curb cravings and see results with these simple shortcuts

Lose weight ZERO EFFORT

Want to slim for summer, but lack the time or inclination to start a dramatic diet? The good news is you don't have to - even little tweaks to your daily eating habits can have impressive results.

'First, you need to fill your cupboards with nourishing food to help ensure you can make healthy choices easily,' says nutritionist Jenna Hope*. Then, try these easy tricks to feel lighter, leaner and more confident - fast.

Pack in the protein

Finding it difficult to stop snacking? Try to have a portion of protein with breakfast, lunch and dinner. 'Whether that's lean meat, fish, eggs, tofu, beans or pulses, it helps keep you feeling full, making you less likely to reach for unhealthier foods between meals,' says Jenna.

imageHealthy hydration

Ditch sugary pop - sugar and sweeteners in fizzy drinks can leave you bloated and craving more sweet food, says Jenna. Try a glass of sparkling water with fresh lime and mint instead. This is a great way to hydrate, quench your thirst and avoid excess calories and sugar.

Take pics of your plate

Guilty of overserving yourself? 'Eat off the same-sized plates each time and take a photo of your meals,' suggests Jenna. 'This can help you to refer back to what your portions should look like on your plate so you don't pile them.' For a guide on portion sizes, visit nutrition.org.uk.
