As a new series of the hit TV show is set to air, we learn how there's no escape from justice for the most evil murderers - all thanks to modern tech

Killers caught ON CAMERA

The camera never lies, and when it comes to crimes, video footage can provide vital evidence. In fact, in recent years, video evidence has become increasingly prevalent in the courtroom. In the latest 10-part TV series of Killers: Caught on Camera, set to air on 5 September, we learn exactly how police piece together every bit of footage from CCTV, home surveillance, police bodycam and mobile-phone footage like a jigsaw to trap calculated killers.

The show delves into some of the most shocking murders of recent years, including a woman killed alongside her mother by her father, who filmed himself planning the murders. Here, narrator Ava Glass, who is a crime novelist and journalist, tells us what to expect from the new series...

'IT REALLY CHILLED ME'

Ava Glass lives in Surrey with her husband, Jack.

I've been working as a crime novelist for decades now, and as a journalist have investigated hundreds of brutal murders and visited countless grisly crime scenes.

imageBut there are some stories that stick with you. Like the case of the Keller family, which we explore in the new series of Killers: Caught on Camera. When I was asked to be part of the second series, I couldn't wait to get involved, but this story, and the way in which video played such a huge part in it, really chilled me.

Senseless shootings

The family regularly filmed videos of themselves and posted them to YouTube for their many followers. Daughter Kaylene, 18, posted videos of her making crafts, and her mother Lynnettee also got involved.
