Excitement in the bedroom dwindling? You're not alone - 44%* of Brits are unhappy with their sex life - and stress, busy schedules and the menopause are among the biggest causes for dissatisfaction. But you don't need to admit defeat. 'Many couples describe losing “the spark”,' says sex therapist Alice Child. 'But when I get them to explore deeper what they've lost, it isn't desire for each other, just the knowledge of how to trigger it.' Read on for our expert tips to reignite the passion.
1 Harness the sun
With spring comes a natural lift in libido for many. 'Getting more sunshine represents an increase in serotonin, which can improve sexual appetite,' says Megwyn White, director of education at sexual wellness brand Satisfyer. Warmer temperatures encourage us to spend more time outdoors, resulting in more physical activity. 'This increases libido by releasing endorphins and improving self-confidence, and bringing blood flow to the genitals,' adds Megwyn. Get outdoors for at least 30 minutes a day.
