1 Cuddle A Pillow
If you typically sleep on your side, you might find your top shoulder falls forwards in the night, pulling on the ligaments and causing pain which can keep you awake. Try hugging a firm pillow lengthways against your chest - this should allow your top arm to be gently supported and take the pressure off your shoulder.
