Kevin makes a meal out of a cheeky comment over a dinner party invite

You may recall I wrote a lighthearted piece about journalists asking people to name the celebrities they'd most like to have over for a dinner party.

I mentioned that former Mayor of Kāpiti Jenny Rowan QSO had once included me on her list of four. It came as a shock. I didn't know her very well. The others were Eleanor Roosevelt, Matt Damon and Dame Anne Salmond.

Her list was made 15 years ago. I made the tongue-in-cheek point, “Wouldn't you think she'd have invited me over by now? We live in the same town.”
