After an horrific on-set accident, the A-list star's ready for action again
-
As a sword-wielding immortal with scores to settle, Uma Thurman has sealed her reputation as an action star once and for all in the Netflix blockbuster The Old Guard 2.
It's been more than 20 years since the A-lister blazed her unforgettable trail of madness and mayhem in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill movies.
Those back-to-back performances required no small amount of blood, sweat and killer moves from the Hollywood star, who went through three months of combat training - eight hours a day to ace her part as an unassailable assassin on the road to revenge.
Unsurprisingly, once Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2 were done and dusted, she was inundated with offers of more kick-butt roles than she could jab a Samurai sword at.
But she turned most of them down - until now.“I did anything but more action movies,” Uma, 55, admits. “I didn’t grind out a whole bunch because I felt I had done something significant in the field and it was fun to not overplay it.”
