Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus gazed adoringly into each other's eyes as they made their red-carpet debut as a couple in Rome.

The twosome caught fans off guard in April when they revealed they were an item.

Now, Austin Powers star Liz, 59, has told sources she “doesn’t care” if fans don't understand their unlikely romance.

“They have great energy together,” says an insider.

“She very much enjoys his company.”

And another insider reveals that Billy, 63, is so besotted with Liz, he’s planning a lavish 60th birthday celebration for her this month on the Caribbean island of Nevis, where they first met on the set of the movie Christmas in Paradise.

“He thinks she’s the most beautiful woman in the world,” says the source.

“He spoils her rotten with gifts, but mostly they just enjoy hanging out, listening to records and making each other laugh.”

Achy Break Heart singer Billy says Liz contacted him last year when he was going through his difficult divorce from Australian singer Firerose, 38.

“I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any tougher?’ And in this moment... a friend reached out.”
