I didn't expect my children to all be the same. And they aren't. I'm surprised how different they all are. Parents may be inclined to think of their children as their own creations.

But our offspring's unique genes materialise from generations of forebears, each child being gifted a different set. Though it's interesting our kids, often different in personality to their parents, nearly always look like them.
