Kevin fulfils a long-held dream to visit his relatives who died in the war

Finally paying RESPECTS

For much of my later life, I've wanted to pay respects to the graves of my great-uncles killed in Europe during World War I.

I guess it's a sense of gratitude, but also sadness that our boys were sent off to war on the other side of the world with no perception of what an interminable nightmare it'd be.

I'm sure plenty of other New Zealanders wonder about the practicalities of visiting the graves of their fallen relatives too. I've just done the trip and feel I should share with you how easy it is. There are lots of devoted war grave guides available on the internet.
