France wants to attract experiential & discerning Indians

France is witnessing a strong resurgence in travel from India, with nearly 650,000 arrivals in 2024, Sheetal Wadhwa Munshaw, Director Atout France India, tells India Outbound.
Q How many Indian travel agents are attending this edition of Rendezvous-en-France?
We had 32 agents in total, with a mix of agents and tour operators, from across India. Most of them did choose to go on pre-tours and post-tours and the regions that we highlighted were the host region, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, besides Occitanie and Provence and some of them are going to a post-tour to Nice and Monaco, to the Côte d'Azur.
What was the number of arrivals from India last year, and what are your expectations for 2025?
Last year we were almost at 650,000 which is about a 15 pc increase from the previous year and if you compare it to 2019, we were at almost 700,000 so we have actually come pretty close to our pre-Covid figures. India is 17th source market for France, ahead of markets like Japan and Korea.
