TESLA RECEIVES MORE THAN 100K MODEL Y JUNIPER ORDERS IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, STARTS PRODUCTION AT GIGA BERLIN AFTER SHANGHAI

|January 25, 2025
Tesla (TSLA) has received over 100,000 orders for the new design-refreshed 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper in just two weeks following its launch in key markets like China, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. This overwhelming demand showcases Tesla's strong foothold in the global EV market and the immense popularity of its latest Model Y update.

STRONG DEMAND DESPITE MIXED INITIAL REACTIONS
Initial reactions to the redesigned Tesla Model Y Juniper were mixed, particularly in North America, where Tesla fans expressed reservations about its appearance. Many noted similarities to the futuristic and angular design of Tesla's upcoming Cybercab robotaxi, which some perceived as a departure from the more traditional styling of the earlier Model Y. However, the reception in China and other international markets has been overwhelmingly positive, with buyers rushing to place orders.
China, which has emerged as Tesla's largest and most critical market, appears to have embraced the Model Y Juniper's modernized look. This strong consumer response demonstrates Tesla's ability to tailor its designs to regional preferences, a factor that may be driving its success in markets beyond North America.
PRODUCTION RAMPS UP AT GIGA BERLIN AND GIGA SHANGHAITesla wasted no time scaling production to meet the surging demand. Following the initial production run at Giga Shanghai, Tesla began manufacturing the Model Y Juniper at its German facility, Giga Berlin. This strategic move ensures that Tesla can meet regional demand in Europe while minimizing production bottlenecks.
Giga Berlin, which has played a crucial role in Tesla's European operations, is expected to significantly boost the delivery timeline for the Model Y Juniper. Tesla's ability to rapidly scale production across multiple gigafactories demonstrates the operational efficiency of its global supply chain.
