ESPN AND FOX TO LAUNCH JOINT SPORTS STREAMING BUNDLE

ESPN and Fox are teaming up to launch a new streaming bundle aimed at sports fans, a move that could reshape the competitive landscape of live sports broadcasting in the U.S.

ESPN AND FOX TO LAUNCH JOINT SPORTS STREAMING BUNDLE

The partnership will package ESPN's broad slate of professional and collegiate coverage with Fox's lineup of NFL, MLB, college football, and FIFA events, giving subscribers a consolidated, app-based hub for live sports.

The bundle—expected to debut in 2025—will be available as a standalone subscription and as part of select cable replacement packages. Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but industry analysts expect it to target households increasingly willing to drop traditional cable while still demanding comprehensive sports access.

A STRATEGIC MOVE

The announcement comes as the streaming wars enter a new phase—one in which sports rights have become the most coveted and expensive assets in the content market. For platforms, live sports are one of the few genres that consistently draw massive real-time audiences, retain subscribers, and command premium ad rates.

imageNetflix, once uninterested in live content, is now investing in sports documentaries and exploring live events. Amazon Prime Video has Thursday Night Football and a growing portfolio of international sports rights. Apple TV+ secured exclusive rights to Major League Soccer and has dabbled in MLB broadcasts. Peacock and Paramount+ have built strong sports lineups with the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
