Get away from it all... except helpful and fun gadgets and gear

Here at T3, we're firm believers that summer holidays are overrated.
Winter holidays not only provide much-needed time out during a period when family get-togethers, last-minute Christmas shopping sprees and the seemingly endless cold, dark nights can bring on a mild case of cabin fever - they're a great time to experience destinations which come into their own during winter. And we're not just talking about ski holidays, either - December, January and February are brillant times for staycations to places such as the Lake District or the Scottish Highlands, which morph into snow-dusted winter wonderlands.
Alternatively, nothing beats some winter sun, and this year, several hotels are tempting us to warmer climes.
We've got our sights on Bali's new Anantara Ubud Bali Resort, perfectly positioned for leisurely strolls through the nearby rice paddies, although we're also excited about the early 2025 opening of the Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, a property in the heart of one of the city's prettiest parks, and proof that Thailand's capital is a destination in its own right.
Another myth we're keen to bust? That holidays must involve enforced digital detoxes. The right technology can transform your trip, whether it's by helping you keep track of your belongings or keeping devices primed and ready for those all-important selfies. With that in mind, we've got the top tech to upgrade your winter travels. Bon voyage!
1. TUMI 19 DEGREE SUITCASE
Ever heard of a suitcase with shelves? Neither had we until we came across Tumi's ultra-mobile aluminium 19 Degree case. Yes, at £1,620 it's somewhat of an investment piece, but it's more like a wardrobe on wheels than a suitcase with six internal fabric shelves, which makes accessing your belongings when it's open a breeze.
