THE BASICS

Pick a plan Whether you're new to Netflix or a veteran, choose the right plan. The ₹199/m one has ads and blocks a handful of shows you'll see a lock icon next to them; Standard (₹499/m) is free from ads and blocks. Both will let you watch on two devices at once. Premium (₹649/m) goes 4K and ups simultaneous viewing to four devices.

Take control

Tap/click during playback and you'll see standard controls and, on the ads plan, where you're going to be interrupted.

Use the speech balloon to activate subtitles. On mobile, you can lock the screen to avoid errant taps and increase playback speed when John Wick 4 is into hour seven.

Download faves

Netflix isn't much cop when you're soaring through the air or wrestling with a bad internet connection. So download films and shows before you travel, via the ':' button or info pages. For a series, you can opt to grab the entire thing in one tap. Head to App Settings (via My Netflix and then the hamburger menu) and turn on Wi-Fi Only to avoid expensive downloads over 5G. You can also manage and delete your downloads in My Netflix.
