In absolute terms, some Samsung products are more successful than others – but what’s never in question is the bold, almost aggressive nature of the pricing.

The QE1C is a case in point: good luck finding a 4K QLED television with the full suite of HDR standards, plus an extensive smart TV offering and a useful app, for anything like as little as Samsung is asking. Of course, undercutting your rivals doesn’t guarantee success… but there’s no denying Samsung’s reputation.

And as it turns out, the QE1C QLED doesn’t need excuses made for it. It’s the entry level set in the revered Samsung Q series, and the panel is Pantone callibrated. It gets a lot right, to the point that the price-tag could conceivably be a misprint.
