THE LUMBER OF THE BEAST
Motorola Razr 60 Ultra
Trees are famously not very bendy, so wood probably seems like an unlikely material to make a foldable phone out of, but that hasn't stopped Motorola giving it a go. This ‘mountain trail’ version of the new Razr 60 Ultra is partly made from real wood – unsurprisingly, a first for a folding phone.
Of course, the actual bendy bits are made from other stuff: the hinge is reinforced with titanium and the 7in screen on the inside is a Super HD OLED that's been Pantone-validated. Power comes from Qualcomm’s speedy Snapdragon 8 Elite chip – which, when paired with the 4700mAh battery, should provide plenty of grunt for the customisable 4in outer touchscreen as well. You can use that as a viewfinder, with a trio of 50MP cameras to choose from, including an ultrawide one and a high-res Super Zoom.
So far a lot of folding phones have fallen short on durability, but the Razr 60 Ultra is IP48-rated, which means it can sit in up to 1.5m of fresh water for as long as half an hour and emerge unharmed. Not as tough as an old oak tree, then, but still pretty resilient.

Renault 5 Turbo 3E
This is a spirited, all-electric tribute to the iconic Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 of the roaring '80s. Billed as a 'mini-supercar,' this newcomer will open at a starting price of €155,000 (approx ₹1.49 crore). Sales are set to span Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and Australia.
