ELECTRIC ORIGIN - Mahindra XEV 9e

Mahindra isn't new to the electric vehicle segment-there is the XUV400-but the latest cars from the brand are a massive step up in many ways.

ELECTRIC ORIGIN

Built on an all-new platform, the Mahindra XEV 9e is the bigger and more practical of the two new EVs, and comes in two battery capacity options-59kWh and 79kWh.

While not quite as adventurous and sporty looking as the BE 6e, the XEV 9e is definitely more practical, even if both cars have the same Inglo platform and wheelbase underneath the cabins This one is more spacious. You get a larger cabin with more space at the front and back, and a bigger boot. There's also a higher seating position-more typical of the SUV way that gives you better visibility of the road and around you.

The coolest thing about the XEV 9e has to be the triple-display infotainment system and instrument cluster. There are three 12.3-inch screens lined up, with the left-most display dedicated to passenger entertainment. You can watch YouTube, Prime Video, Hotstar, and more on that one, which is actually quite a blast.
