Well, the eating part is easy – you just shove it in as fast as you can and chomp away until it disappears – but what about before that?

SAMSUNG FAMILY HUB RS7HCG 8543B1

₹1,89,500 / samsung.com

One thing you need to know about Samsung’s latest Family Hub fridge  freezer: this is not your average chiller. It’s like having a PC at the heart of your kitchen.

What makes this hefty appliance super-smart is its 32in HD display. Here you can access all sorts of stuff including a meal-planner app, a digital shopping list that syncs to your phone, and instant access to recipes and videos. It can even run home-related apps such Ring, notifying you of visitors with a live video feed of your front door.

Scarborough pair

It integrates easily with SmartThings for remote adjustments, including temperature control of the fridge and freezer independently.

The spangling conversation

A whiteboard app can be powered up on the display, allowing family members to leave snarky notes for one another just like the good old days.

Homeward found

An internal camera beams real-time images to your phone, so you can check which veggies are running low when you’re already in Tesco.

Fridge over bubbled water

Design-wise, it’s a pretty spacious unit (read: humongous), with a 389L fridge plus a 225L freezer. You get five-door pockets, with a bottle rack that can be adapted for different-sized drinks, while the freezer has an ice dispenser.
