Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
PC Pro
|August 2025
Notably thinner and lighter than your average phone, with battery life its biggest and predictable shortcoming
Samsung’s past Edge phones were notable for their curved screens, which wrapped round the sides like the Motorola Edge 60 Pro (see p72). This new model has a regular flat display, and instead distinguishes itself with a strikingly thin build. It’s a feat of design and engineering, but it comes at a steep price in terms of cost and trade-offs.
There are three colours to choose from: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue.
Despite being 31% thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra (see issue 367, p70) and 29% lighter, it feels solid thanks to its metal frame and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 display covering. It also has the same IP68 rating as the S25 Ultra.
The 6.7in AMOLED screen is 0.2in smaller than the Ultra’s, which makes it easier to use one-handed, especially as Samsung has kept the bezels slim. It looks sharp, with rich colours, a 120Hz refresh rate and lots of brightness, going up to a measured 1,997cd/m².
There’s no sacrifice in power, with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset found in the Ultra. With 12GB of RAM, it effortlessly handles all the apps and games you might want to run, even multitasking with multiple apps at once. In benchmarks it actually tops the S25 Ultra, though everything is so zippy on both phones you won't notice any difference.
