An extremely powerful system for the price, and you can't argue about its sub-1kg weight or battery life

- TIM DANTON

MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo A2VM

PRICE £833 (£999 inc VAT) from currys.co.uk

Our first job is surely to decode this laptop's prodigiously long name. Prestige indicates that it's part of Taiwanese manufacturer MSI's business and productivity range; 13 the size of its screen (13.3in to be precise); AI+ that it meets Microsoft's Copilot + PC criteria; Evo that it passes Intel's Evo checklist; and A2VM... well, life has to have some secrets.

I can reveal that this is an incredibly light laptop. MSI states 990g but it tipped my scales at 967g, and the usual cliché applies: I genuinely didn't notice this in my rucksack. MSI achieves this feat via a magnesium-aluminium chassis, and while there's flex in the lid (not a bad thing as this helps to absorb impacts), the Prestige 13 will surely maintain its professional aura for far longer than the one-year warranty suggests. You can extend this by three months if you register, which is made easier thanks a link in MSI's Center 5 software. Sadly, there's no way to upgrade the warranty from here.
