MACCLESFIELD FC have led the tributes to “colossal” former manager Peter Wragg, who has passed away.
Wragg is held in legendary status by a number of Non-League clubs for his success in the dugout in the 80s and 90s.
He managed Leek Town, Stalybridge Celtic, winning their first-ever league title in 1979-80 and later saving them from relegation from the Conference in 1993, and Chorley – where the Magpies won promotion from the Cheshire League to the Northern Premier League.
At Hyde United he guided the club to the FA Cup first round where they took on Burnley in 1983.
