TOWN HIT BY DROP OUT OF PREMIER

ABERYSTWYTH TOWN have fallen out of the JD Cymru Premier for the first time in their history after going down to a 1-0 home defeat to survival rivals Briton Ferry Llansawel.
With three games left the Seasiders are now nine points adrift of Newtown and 12 behind Briton Ferry. A goal from Caleb Demery in the 84th minute at Park Avenue finally condemned the home side to the drop.
As one of the 20 founder member teams of the inaugural Welsh League for the 1992-93 season, they had remained in the top flight for 31 seasons. Only Newtown, who are also facing relegation, have joined them in every season in the top tier.
“I’m devastated, I’m gutted and I’m hurting. That’s a game we should never have lost,” said manager Antonio Corbisiero.
