TOMMY Widdrington says leading Aldershot to a historic FA Trophy final at Wembley would be his own Dan Burn moment.

Burn, 32, fought his way from Non-League to the Premier League before joining hometown club Newcastle in 2022.

And the giant cen-tre-back's rags-to-riches story got the fairytale end-ing it deserved when he headed home at Wembley to set Newcastle on the way to an emotional Ca-rabao Cup final win over Liverpool the Magpies' first major domestic tro-phy since 1955.

Aldershot know all too well how it feels to be starved of success. Despite spending the majority of their 99-year existence in the Football League, the Hampshire outfit have never been to Wembley.

But if they can beat lo-cal rivals Woking in Sat urday's crunch semi-final at the Rec then the long wait would finally be over courtesy of their Geord-ie manager, who is now on the mend after suffering two strokes in December.
