PARKER'S HEART IS STILL AT HOME

The 60-year-old, who has 19 caps for his country and won the Premier League twice with Manchester United during the 90s, managed in Non-League with Chelmsford City and Welling United, as well as being on the coaching staff at Folkestone Invicta and director of football at Ashford Town.

Since leaving Invicta in 2006, Parker has taken just one job aside from his regular role of radio commentator and pundit, working as a coaching consultant and game development officer for Football Federation Northern Territory in Australia.

Essex-based Parker had a spell at the end of his playing career at Heybridge Swifts and now the former Fulham and QPR defender says any return to the game on a day-today basis would have to be a role in which he was already emotionally attached, having once admitted he “left his heart at Chelmsford” when leaving for Welling in 2003.

Invested

“If I was to go back into it, I would only want to do it for a local team that I’m invested in,” Parker told
