JULUS Ndene handed Leek Town a famous victory in the mist – not that any of the fans got to see it!

JULIUS DICTATES - BUT FANS MIST IT

The Blues centre-back headed home a last-minute winner to inflict a first home defeat of the season on runway leaders Macclesfield in front of a 4,181 crowd at Moss Rose.

But with the Cheshire mist vastly reducing visibility, it was all a bit of a blur for the visiting supporters at the other end of the ground – not that it dampened wild celebrations at the end.

Macc started the day 16 points clear at the top of the table and went in front on 35 minutes when Luke Duffy beat Leek keeper Dino Visser at his near post.

However, the home celebrations proved short-lived as three minutes later when Neil Kengi diverted a shot into the goal.

Silkmen boss Robbie Savage made a triple substitution at the break but Leek still looked the more likely.

imageIndeed, in the first minute of stoppage time, Ndene rose highest to snatch a winner from amidst the mist, sparking bedlam in the away fans once they had realised.
