JAKE'S AIMING TO POWER ON

IT’S onwards and upwards for Cheadle Town next season — and manager Jake Davies is looking to build further on leading the club to their best-ever league finish.

The 29-year-old consolidated the North West Counties Premier Division side’s Step 5 status in 14th place — one rung higher than the previous best set under Paul Marshall a season earlier.

Now, the ambitious boss is looking for the club to progress both on and off the pitch.

“I know the owners, club and community really well,” he said. “It means a lot to do well for the people that I've known for a long time and put smiles on people’s faces. It’s only the start.

“Putting foundations down away from the pitch has been really important and put ourselves in good stead to give it a good go next year. The minimum aim is to get ourselves into the play-offs.
