GOAL-DEN RAMS ACE IS BACK IN THE HABIT
The Non-League Football Paper
|September 22, 2024
RAMSGATE goal machine Joe Taylor has quickly got back in the scoring habit – but the skipper says it’s all about promotion this year.

Nobody at Steps 1-4 scored more league, FA Cup and FA Trophy goals last season than the 33-year-old.
The former Cray Wanderers striker hit a remarkable 53 goals – landing The Golden Boot at The NLP’s National Game Awards – in an action-packed campaign for the Rams.
This year he’s already bagged two matchballs on his way to 11 goals in the first seven games. But Taylor wants team accolades too come the end of April.
“I ended up with 53 last season and we didn’t have a promotion to show for it – that’s what hurt,” Taylor said. “People ask me: What’s your target? It’s just promotion.
“I’ve come to my hometown club, they’ve made me captain and I really feel part of this movement – attendances are going the right way and everything at the club has really elevated the last few years. I really feel part of that. I couldn’t want anything more than promotion.”
