Grangetown relishing Vase debut

A GRAND total of 624 clubs are set to take part in the Isuzu FA Vase in the coming campaign - and Grangetown Boys Club are ecstatic to be one of them.

The Middlesbrough-based outfit have been accepted into the competition for the first time in their history and are already eager to make their bow. First round qualifying has been pencilled in for Saturday, August 23.

“To be in something like this is mega for the club and community,” said player/joint manager Curtis Collantine. “It’s a prestigious competition and it was something we really wanted to get into.

“It's an unbelievable moment for us and we want to push on as much as we can. We would love to get a home draw — that would be incredible. We would play anyone! If it’s away, I’m sure there are some good trips in there.”
