SUPPORTERS ARE URGED TO STAY OFF THE PITCH...

THE EFL have joined forces with the FA, Premier League, Football Supporters’ Association and others to remind fans to stay off the pitch in the closing stages of the season.
There were unsavoury scenes at a number of games towards the end of last term after supporters entered the field of play.
In one of the most high-profile cases, a fan was jailed after running on to the pitch and headbutting Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp at the end of the Blades’ Championship play-off semi- final shoot-out defeat by Nottingham Forest.
Following the incidents, the Premier League and EFL introduced automatic club bans for pitch invaders in the hope of nipping the issue in the bud.
Now the EFL – and others - have reiterated the message that supporters should stay in the stands.
