STOCKPORT boss Dave Challinor can only hope that results go his way in the last round of matches after watching his side become only the second team to win at champions Leyton Orient.
Results from elsewhere determined that County have to win their final match of the campaign to gain automatic promotion while hoping that Northampton fail to triumph.
“If we do what we do well next week, which is all I can ask, then I can’t ask for more,” he said. “We are one special group. If it has to be the playoffs, so be it.”
Akil Wright and Callum Camps gave County a two-goal advantage within ten minutes of the start and from thereon, they remained in control, before substitute Connor Lemonheigh-Evans wrapped up matters ten minutes from time.
