Jonny Leighfield gets to briefly hang out with the jetset on his visit to the UAE for the official opening of Al Zorah's new clubhouse in Ajman
-

What do Ant and Dec, Alain Prost and little old me have in common? The answer most certainly does not involve high fame or rich golfing ability - I'm quite confident I let the group down (badly) in that regard.
Rather, we all got to experience the breathtaking new clubhouse at Al Zorah Golf and Yacht Club in Ajman earlier this year, the first GEO-certified establishment in the area. We didn't go together, I should quickly point out, but instead happened to briefly cross paths during late March.
Al Zorah's fresh jaw-dropping structure officially opened in February, just in time to host a successful HotelPlanner Tour event, won by Italy's Renato Paratore. It is eye-catching yet subtle, and sits proudly at the golf course's highest point.
Its positioning and grandeur make it the obvious jewel in the Al Zorah golf complex crown. Guests can make use of its chic lobby, dining area, boutique-style pro shop, meeting rooms, changing rooms and gym as well as the beautiful patio, or balcony overlooking the outdoor pool.
Located on the outskirts of Ajman, 30 to 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport, Al Zorah possesses an ideal level of tranquillity without feeling isolated from the major city hubs nearby. If you're looking for the luxury of Dubai but with a slightly more peaceful tone, Ajman and Al Zorah are the places to go.

TAYLORMADE SPIDER 5K-ZT PUTTER £449
The TaylorMade Spider family of putters has enjoyed resounding success across all professional tours and is widely regarded as one of the best ranges on the market, so how did the new Spider 5K-ZT model stack up against other zero-torque putters? The first thing I noticed when unboxing the club was its electric blue headcover, and, while it may sound odd, I think this sets the tone for the rest of the putter.

MOTOCADDY QB2 PUSH TROLLEY £219.99
It has taken Motocaddy eight years to replace its incredibly successful Cube push trolley. This kind of product life cycle is a huge rarity in this industry and testament to the quality of the original. So, 2025 finally brings the sequel – the QB2. Can it be the Godfather Part II of the push cart world (an excellent sequel), or will it turn out to be more of a Jaws II (a not-so-great follow-on).

HOW AI COULD BOOST CLUB PERFORMANCE
The prospect of AI-powered golf clubs isn’t just about hitting the ball further; it’s about a personalised, adaptive experience that could completely revolutionise how we play. Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming to be a prophet here, as we're already seeing the use of AI on products like Callaway drivers. But we could just be scratching the surface.
