An Indian twist on a Scottish classic that's perfect for recovery
-
Might one’s pronunciation of scone be linked to one’s poshness? Well, according to a team of academics at Cambridge University, the answer is no. Rather, how you pronounce scone says much more about your regional origins. In northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, scone rhymes with ‘gone’, while in Ireland, Cornwall and the Midlands it rhymes with ‘cone’. The rest of the UK is pretty mixed, all except the town of Scone in Scotland, which pronounces scone ‘skoon’. Thanks pal.
In this recipe, The Cycling Chef Alan Murchison gets back to his own Scottish roots with ‘one of my Granny’s classics, tattie scones, but with an added Indian twist’.
