47-year-old puts difficult years behind her
-

Stirling Bicycle Club's Christina Mackenzie proved fastest female at the SVTTA Pinky Williams Trophy 30-mile time trial on Sunday, a victory which put to rest a challenging few years for the 47-year-old.
A previous women's record holder from Land's End to John O'Groats, Mackenzie had her pelvis broken in four places, faced months of excruciating rehabilitation and considered selling her time trial bike.
Now, almost three years on, she took this win on the same roads that the hit-and-run occurred in Stirlingshire.
She clocked 1:14.00, 2.25 ahead of Deeside Thistle CC's Margaret McMillan.
Meanwhile, in the open event GTR Return to Life p/b Streamline dominated, with Chris Smart winning in 1:01.04, while his team-mates Basil Monks, Cameron Muir and Rob Graham were second, third and fourth respectively.
Elsewhere, Mark Jagger (Team Lifting Gear Products) proved quickest at the North Tyneside Riders' 27-mile event in Northumberland - his fourth win of the season so far.
A time of 1:11.40 gave him the win by just over one minute from Muckle CC pair John Bowman and Colin Atkinson, while quickest female was EMC Cycling's Rebekah Hendrickse in 1:21.42.
In Norfolk, husband and wife Matt and Hannah O'Brien (Pedal Revolution CC) were both victorious at the VC Baracchi 50-mile time trial near Bungay.
