A lot gets made of the state of UK racing. Last week, I was debating the cost of National races, with many saying that they are too expensive.

But National Series races, on closed roads and lasting up to four-plus hours, are actually pretty good value when you compare them to the equivalent-level triathlons, closed-road marathons, or the latest crazes like HYROX gym events. Paying just £20 more than a National B race to not have oncoming traffic seems like particularly good value.
