Podium places separated by just five miles, reports Snowdon Sports

After half a day of racing, just a few miles separated the top men and women battling for honours in the National 12-Hour Championship in South Wales on Sunday.
The top three women were separated by five miles and the men’s podium was decided by six miles as the title races went down to the wire.
Scottish long-distance specialist Christina Mackenzie (Stirling Bike Club) had “no idea” how the close the battle was between the women’s field as she chased her own target and a winning distance of 263 miles, just two miles ahead of 45-year-old fellow Scottish rider Christina Murray (Army Cycling) in second.
