My next thought was the question: Could a book this long have enough good material to hold my attention?

The topic is a full-on challenge itself. The sort of thing that most people wouldn't likely consider, let alone attempt. A plan to set a world record by riding to every capital in the U.S.’s 50 states in alphabetical order, in 65 days. A trip that got even more complicated as the planning progressed, and they learned of new challenges they’d face. For starters, Wendy Crockett and Ian McPhee had completely underestimated the miles they were facing. And the challenge grew to 100,000 miles in 78 days.

Wendy is someone who all serious long-distance street riders will likely have heard of. An American, she’s the first woman to win the 11-day Iron Butt Rally. Ian, an Australian and also an experienced long-distance rider, is described in the book's foreword as being a real-life version of Crocodile Dundee.
