Meet the researchers flying drones to sample slimy whale snot.

 Ocean researchers are saving threatened whales and orcas using hi-tech gadgets called SnotBots. To celebrate World Orca Day (14 July), The Week Junior Science+Nature spoke to one scientist about how these robot drones could save an entire pod (group).
Saving a pod
In 2018, a killer whale called Scarlet was very poorly. The orca, who was nearly four, was starving because there wasn't enough salmon to eat. Experts did their best but couldn't save her.
