Sharks inspire new tec

Aeroplanes coated in a material inspired by shark skin could stop airlines from burning billions of litres of fuel each year.

Developed by Australian aerospace company MicroTau, the lightweight coating mimics the skin of fast-swimming sharks, such as shortfin makos, which race through the ocean at 60 miles per hour.
