The map is now the highest-resolution picture of the human brain ever created

Five thousand slices of brain, each the width one-thousandth the thickness of a human hair, individually scanned. That's what it took to make this image: a micro atlas of the human brain. In just a single cubic millimetre, it contains 57,000 cells, 230 millimetres of blood vessels and almost 150 million synapses.
