ONE STICK TO RULE THEM ALL?
-
If you're like us and spent a substantial portion of your youth in the arcades, you'll probably agree with us when we say that some games are simply best enjoyed with a good joystick. Unfortunately, good joysticks rarely come cheap and tend to take up plenty of storage space, which can be a problem if you've got an extensive collection of retro hardware that you need to buy dedicated peripherals for. TR Fight Stick aims to solve that problem with the Octopus Arcade Stick, a premium controller that supports over 20 different platforms old and new, from the NES and Mega Drive to the Switch and PS5.
From the moment you open the box, it's clear that the Octopus is a serious piece of kit for serious players. The aluminium body is weighty, the rubber pads on the bottom keep it from slipping around and the stick and buttons are genuine arcade parts from Sanwa. There's a switch to disable the Start and Home buttons to avoid penalties during competitive play, and another switch to change between d-pad, left and right stick functions if needed. Buttons can be set to regular fire or turbo fire independently. An OLED screen displays status information during regular use, and functions as the VMU display when used with a Dreamcast.
