CLOSE to eight of 10, or 79 percent of Filipinos, trust Japan, while 74 percent trust the Japanese people, the December 3to 11 survey of OCTA Research that was released on Monday showed.

- BY JOCELYN REYES Reporter

OCTA said the survey results, which involved 1,200 adult respondents with a margin of error of 43 percent, show the positive perception of Japan and highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges in shaping public perception.

“Cultural exchanges, tourism, educational cooperation, and the growing Filipino community in Japan contribute to familiarity and mutual goodwill between the two societies, reinforcing positive views of Japan beyond formal diplomatic relations,” it said.
