Staffing boost for special needs service
Yorkshire Evening Post
|July 12, 2025
More staff will be deployed to a family advice service after youngsters in need of extra help at school faced long waits for support.
Leeds City Council said £260,000 a year would be spent expanding the team helping those with special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
A council report said the SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) had been unable to meet demand from a growing number of families in need of help.
It said: “Often this leads to them not receiving the advice and support at the time they require it.”
