July 30, 2025

Three minutes of silence have been held to mark the first anniversary of horrific events in Southport which left three Taylor Swift fans dead and others seriously injured.

Nine-year-old Alice Aguiar, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and six-year-old Bebe King were killed in the attack at a a Taylor Swift themed dance workshop.

Axel Rudakubana, then aged 17, entered the sold-out workshop at around 11.45am on July 29, 2024, and began stabbing young girls as they sat making friendship bracelets and singing along to the popstar’s music.

Rudakubana, from Banks, West Lancashire, took a taxi to the dance class, got out without paying and walked up the stairs to the first-floor studio where he found 26 children, Ms Lucas, and her colleague and friend Heidi Liddle, and embarked on his murderous spree.

Alice, Elsie Dot and Bebe died from their injuries.
