Let tournament begin: Four-days of jousting ahead

The Royal Armouries is going back to medieval times as it hosts its annual four-day festival of jousting this Easter.

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, the museum will host its International Jousting Tournament, marking 25 years of the global spectacle in Leeds.

The four-day tournament, lasting from Friday April 18 until Monday April 21, will see thousands of fans pack out the museum’s purpose-built jousting arena.

Audiences will watch, captivated, as the highly-skilled participants ride at one another at speeds of up to 30mph and try to hit one another with a 10ft lance.
